St. Thomas a'Becket is committed to keeping children and other vulnerable populations (e.g., elderly, people with disabilities) safe. At St. Thomas a'Becket, every staff member must follow the Pastoral Code of Conduct, and every adult and teen volunteer is required to attend training in the prevention, identification and reporting of abuse.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULT VOLUNTEERS
Adult volunteers (age 18 and older) who have contact with children or other vulnerable populations are expected to:
Download the Criminal Background Check Authorization and return it to the Parish Office (Teens have a separate form listed below.)
Register online for a Protecting God's Children Seminar and deliver a copy of the certificate obtained to the Parish Office.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
All high school student volunteers or employees are expected to:
Have parents or guardians download and sign the parent permission letter and return it to the Parish Office
Complete a Teen Background Check form and return it to the Parish Offic
Attend a Called to Serve training workshop and deliver a copy of the certificate obtained to the Parish Office.
CATHOLIC YOUTH ORGANIZATION (CYO) DEADLINES FOR COACHES, VOLUNTEERS AND PAID STAFF
The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) has the following Protecting God's Children workshop deadlines for its volunteers and paid staff:Fall sports–workshop must be completed by September 25
Winter sports–workshop must be completed by January 14
Spring sports–workshop must be completed by April 30
