A long-standing Christmas tradition in our parish is the Advent Tree, symbolizing God’s gift of love for all people. This year the Advent Tree will be three iced trees filled with many tags. There will be a display of the trees on the weekends of November 23rd and 24th (next weekend!!) thru December 7th & 8th. The display will have many colored tags. The organizations’ greatest needs are gifts cards for Meijer, Walmart, Target, Amazon or Kohl’s with suggested dominations of $25. Again, this year there will be tags with items for toys and clothing for children for our neighbors in need. If you select a tag for a toy, no wrapping is necessary, and please attach the tag to the toy or clothing. We hope this helps in your Black Friday shopping experience. We as a parish will be helping 18 organizations and their clients to make their Christmas wonderful.
These organizations are: • AAA Pregnancy Center • St. Vincent de Paul • Nativity of Our Lord Parish • PB&J Outreach • Pope Francis Center • Samaritas Family Center • Sheffield Nursing Home • St. Anne Parish Detroit • St. Christine Christian Services • St. Dominic Outreach Center • Veterans • Plymouth/Canton Schools Clothing Bank • Mary’s Family Center • Holy Family Detroit • Corpus Christi • Habitat for Humanity • SVdP Prison Initiative • Capuchin Soup Kitchen
Please return all items by Sunday, December 8th. Gifts cards and monetary donations can be given to the office or dropped in the offertory box. There will be small white envelopes attached to the trees for your monetary donations. There will be gray carts in the Gathering Area for you to drop off gift donation(s).
