FAMILY AND CHILDREN FAITH FORMATION (FF) CORE TOPICS

All parents of children in classroom based Faith Formation programs must attend three (3) of the following CORE topic meetings. The requirements are met by family, not by child, so no matter how many children you have in our programs, you are still only required to attend three (3) Faith Formation events and activities.

We offer a variety of programs and educational opportunities that count toward your CORE topics, including:

• The Sacramental preparation meetings (First Communion, Reconciliation, Confirmation)
• The required Learning about L.I.F.E. classes
• Living in Christ retreat
• Bible studies presented by the church (including the Thursday evening Scripture presentations by Mr. Metz)

ONLINE OPTIONS FOR CORE TOPICS

• Watch the dynamic talk from Fr. Brendan McGuire on Stewardship: Living the Eucharist. In your opinion, what was the most important point that the speaker made and why? What part of the speech struck you in an especially positive (or negative) way? Email your answers to Anne Truax at anne.truax@abecket.org.
• Watch Fr. Mathew's Talk on the Year of Faith and his travels around the globe. The talk is in three parts. Listen to all three parts online. In your opinion, what was the most important point that the speaker made and why? What part of the speech struck you in an especially positive (or negative) way? • Listen to one (or more) of the nights of the Parish Mission. (Each night is presented in four parts. You must listen to all four parts of a single evening.) Answer the following questions. In your opinion, what was the most important point that the speaker made and why? What part of the speech struck you in an especially positive (or negative) way? • You can listen to all six parts of the talk by James Kiefer in our Faith Portal and then answer the following question: Mr. Kiefer used a lot of stories to make his points. Which stories touched you and why? Email your answer to anne.truax@abecket.org.
• Listen to Adult Faith Formation Director Laura Broyles' Introduction to Sacred Scripture. There are several reflection questions. Submit your answers to anne.truax@abecket.org.
• Watch Laura Broyles' Teaching Children to Pray talk. There are reflection questions. Submit your answers to anne.truax@abecket.org.

In order to participate in Family and Children Faith Formation Programs, parents must be registered parishioners and must register their children with the Religious Education Programs office. Please read our Tuition Policy, our Attendance Policy and our Snow Day Policy.
