VOLUNTEER AND GET INVOLVED AT ST. THOMAS A'BECKET
Join a Commission, Group or Choir
The best way to get involved is to join an existing group or choir. We have dozens of groups at St. Thomas a'Becket. See the complete list of groups at a'Becket.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW)
On Sundays at the 10:00 AM Mass, we need volunteers in our Children's Liturgy of the Word program. You can be a liturgy leader or help assist the kids in getting from the sanctuary to our CLW room. Find out more about CLW or sign up online to volunteer. Become a Eucharistic Minister
We need volunteers to distribute Holy Communion. Volunteers sign up before each Mass and need special training. Find out more about Eucharistic Ministers. Do you have questions? Contact Jen Monforton (jen.monforton@abecket.org) for information.
Volunteer in our Faith Formation program
Our Family and Children Faith Formation program needs many volunteers to make our program successful. From catechists to hall monitors to cleaners, we need you! Find out more about volunteering in the Faith Formation program.
Become a Lector
Debbie Miller is the coordinator of our lectors. Reading skills and a clear and steady voice are attributes of a Lector. Training and materials are provided. Contact Debbie Miller to find out more about becoming a lector. Preparing the Church Environment
The volunteers who work to prepare the Church Environment care for and set up the sanctuary environment. Find out more about volunteering to clean, decorate or care for the church.
Volunteer as a Launderer
We are in need of
volunteers who can
take the purificators
and towels used at each of our
liturgies throughout the week and on
the weekend and pretreat, wash, iron
(purificators), and return them for
use the following week.
If you can help,
or you have questions about this,
please contact Jen Monforton in the
parish office at (734) 981-1333, x13, or email jen.monforton@abecket.org.
Volunteer to be an Usher
We need ushers for each Mass. Among other things, ushers assist parishioners with seating, collecting at the offertory, Communion processions, and distributing the Chancellor. Find out more about becoming an usher. Do you have questions? Contact Jen Monforton (jen.monforton@abecket.org) for information.
