The Lord’s Remnant Prayer and Scripture Group welcomes anyone interested to join us during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. We are a continuation of Fr. Mathew’s Bible classes. Our mission is to give praise and glory to God by seeking His direction through prayer, scripture and fellowship allowing the Spirit to work within us to be Jesus to others and doers of the Word.
Typical meeting begins with prayer for our Church, our parish and special intentions. We follow with our scripture readings which may include a video, but always has a lot of discussion. We are currently studying the readings for next Sunday as presented on emmausjourney.org. We also participate in other activities at STAB and other parishes as we follow the Spirit’s direction. And, of course, there are potluck dinners.
We adopted the name “The Lord’s Remnant” from many Biblical references, including, “But I will leave among you a meek and humble people who trust and take refuge in the name of the LORD. The remnant of Israel will do no wrong and tell no lies, nor will deceit be found in their mouths. They will eat and lie down and no one will make them afraid.” - Zephaniah 3:12-13
